What is the KPU High School on Campus Dual Credit program?
KPU and School District #36 have partnered together to create a Dual Credit program. This option may allow you to take one (or more) university level course(s) during your grade 12 year.
This program is for students who are in Grade 12 or 11. * A student in grade 11 who wishes to apply should have completed English 11 and Math 11 by first semester of grade 11.
Tuition for each KPU course is paid for by the district.
Deadline to apply for a course to be taken 1st semester of grade 12: late April of your grade 11 year
Deadline to apply for a course to be taken 2nd semester of your grade 12 year: early October of grade 12 year

What does Dual Credit mean?
Dual credit means you can use the credit you achieve at KPU towards your post secondary education and for your high school graduation requirements. All KPU courses listed above provide 4 high school credits plus 3 post-secondary credits.

- Application fees and student fees waived. For a selection of courses, tuition may be paid by school district.
- Experience university with other KPU students.
- Credits may be transferable to other institutions.
- B or higher in English 11
- B or higher in Math 11
- Recommendation to the program from your school Counsellor or HSOC coordinator
- Letter of consent from your Parent/Guardian.
- Student must be registered for 8 courses in their grade 11 year
- Message or email Ms. Konkin or Mr. Deol in the LA Matheson Career Centre to review your transcript, and get you organized.
- Ensure that you will be able to meet ALL of the requirements listed above
- Read the documents below. Begin by looking at the Course Descriptions and the Course Selection guide.
- Discuss course options with Advising Staff at KPU, current KPU students, or Career Centre staff to understand which course is best for you
- Submit all of the document by the deadline specified by Career Centre staff
- KPU High School on Campus (HSOC) Application – fully completed
- Teacher Reference Form - please email this to your Teacher Reference & have them email it directly to the Career Centre
